Mar 13, 2016 · When trying to start even in 'N' and foot on brake to start - it would often STILL give the select 'N' and put foot on brake message - so wouldn't start. When it did start by chance, it would come up with errors and would be very erratic in gear selection and would skip between manual and auto, only going up to gear 3.
Around 2 weeks ago it then started displaying the handbrake fault again, even when the auto handbrake was off. This prevented us being bale to engage the handbrake at all when parked. After the car sat parked for a couple of days (in gear), the fault would clear and all would be well until somewhere through the journey it would go into fault again.
Jan 6, 2016 · My Citroen C4 Grand Picasso failed its MOT on "handbrake hold". Investigation by the dealer showed a complete failure of cables and motor costing £1000 to replace and repair. I noted two recalls in the past for electronic handbrake hold issues but my car is not on the list. Its a Jan 2008 model with 80,000 miles.
After deleting the fault code, in a few km-s, the fault appeared again. Finally we managed to delete the fault code after some deletes, some restartings and in an hour. - In the middle of September (after 1530 km running) the problem occured again, with a new fault code : "P0271 Cylinder 4 injector Circuit High".
